UT Arlington to Host Three WAC Championships in 2025-26 Season |
Mavericks to Welcome Cross Country, Women's Tennis, and Outdoor Track & Field Events |
The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is set to host three Western Athletic Conference (WAC) championships during the 2025-26 academic year, bringing significant athletic events to the Arlington community.
On October 31, 2025, UTA will host the men's and women's cross country championships at the Harold Patterson Complex. This marks the first time since 1992 that UTA has hosted a conference cross country championship, previously held at Vandergriff Park.
Continuing its tradition, UTA will also host the women's tennis championships for the second consecutive year. The tournament is scheduled for April 17-18, 2026, at the Arlington Tennis Center.
From May 14-16, 2026, Maverick Stadium will be the venue for the men's and women's outdoor track and field championships. This event follows UTA's successful hosting of the 2025 championships, where both the men's and women's teams achieved notable finishes.
Hosting these championships underscores UTA's commitment to athletics and provides an opportunity for the Arlington community to engage with collegiate sports. The influx of athletes, coaches, and fans is expected to boost local businesses and highlight Arlington as a premier destination for athletic events.
