Arlington has been listening for 18 months. Community surveys, neighborhood conversations, and civic sessions have fed into a draft 20-year roadmap called Innovate Arlington, and now the city is bringing it directly to residents for a final round of feedback before the plan is adopted.

What the Plan Covers

The draft runs deep. It includes 31 goals, 25 major innovations, and 52 near-term actions spanning growth management, transportation, housing affordability, walkability, green infrastructure, and support for local small businesses. This is not a narrow zoning update or a single-issue proposal. It is Arlington's blueprint for what the Dream City looks like two decades from now.

Where and When to Show Up

The city is hosting in-person sessions at five locations across the five council districts. Each runs from 6 to 7 p.m. You do not need to live in a particular district to attend that district's session. Attend whichever location works best for you.

Sessions run from August 6 through August 31 at these venues: Arlington Public Library SW Branch, Texas Rangers Golf Club, ACTIV Center, Wellspring on Main, and Bob Duncan Center. Why This Round Matters

By the time a comprehensive plan reaches its public comment stage, the city has already done the staff work. Town halls like these are the moment residents can still move the needle. The topics on the table, things like small business support, housing options, and how the city manages growth in established neighborhoods, hit close to home for a lot of Arlington families and local shop owners.
